This series is based on images taken while visiting family in Virginia in late fall 2008.  The landscapes and granite rocks in a ravine behind the family house inspired thoughts of foundations, memories, and primal sensory experiences.  The five images are each associated with one of the five senses of touch, sound, sight, taste, and smell.  All of the works contain elements of personal history and raise questions about the reliability of one’s earliest memories.
